A 60-year-old woman tragically lost her life after being struck by a car while walking along King Georges Road in Blakehurst , Sydney’s south, on Tuesday, April 30, 2025 , at approximately 6:50 pm .
The driver of the car, a 28-year-old man , was not injured but was taken to the hospital for mandatory testing. He has since been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death . His licence has been suspended, and he is scheduled to appear in Sutherland Local Court on May 20, 2025 .
This tragic incident marks the second deadly crash on the same road within 24 hours, following a collision in Wiley Park , approximately 9 km northwest , where two young men lost their lives.

- Location: King Georges Road, Blakehurst, about 30 minutes southwest of Sydney CBD.

Police Investigation

This tragic incident occurred just hours after another fatal crash on Monday night in Wiley Park , where two young men, Joey Tofan (23) and Khalil Hamoud (22) , were killed when the BMW they were traveling in collided with a truck. The force of the crash was so severe that it appeared to meld the two vehicles together.
The driver of the BMW, Yousef Hamoud (20) , was critically injured and remains in the hospital. The truck driver, a 24-year-old man , was uninjured but taken to the hospital for mandatory testing. Police are still investigating whether speed and wet road conditions contributed to that crash.
