Incident Overview
A three-vehicle crash involving two B-double trucks and a ute on Thunderbolts Way at Walcha in NSW’s north-west has left one man dead and another seriously injured. Police said one of the trucks was carrying cattle, with about 35 animals also dying in the crash.

    • 53-year-old man, other truck driver, sustained serious head injuries and was taken to John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle

  • First responders attended and attempted to revive the 22-year-old driver, but he could not be saved.
  • The injured 53-year-old truck driver was transported to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
  • Thunderbolts Way was closed in both directions, with diversions in place and heavy vehicles being parked.
