Incident Overview

An 81-year-old Buderim woman was injured in a reported hit-and-run incident on Friday, 19 June 2026.

Location and Time

Initial police investigations indicate that a vehicle travelling east on Townsend Road struck the pedestrian at about 5.34pm as she began crossing from a pedestrian safe zone.

Vehicle Description

Police described the vehicle as an early-2000s silver hatchback with a black stripe along its side.

Reported Movements

Police said the vehicle continued east, made a U-turn, stopped briefly at the scene and then left travelling west.

Injuries

The woman was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police Investigation

The Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating. Police have asked the driver to come forward.
