Incident Overview
Police are investigating a fatal incident on the Pacific Motorway near Billinudgel, NSW, after multiple vehicles collided with an unoccupied motorcycle and a man’s body was later discovered nearby.

- Incident Time: Approximately 7:15pm
- Location: Pacific Motorway, near Billinudgel, NSW (approx. 30 minutes south of Tweed Heads, close to the NSW–Queensland border)
Vehicles Involved
- Unoccupied motorcycle – believed to belong to the deceased
- Three passenger vehicles – all collided with the motorcycle
Fatalities / Injuries
- Deceased: Male, yet to be formally identified, body located near the crash scene
- Injured: No injuries reported from the vehicle occupants, but all underwent mandatory testing
Incident Description
Initial reports indicate that three cars travelling on the Pacific Motorway struck an unoccupied motorcycle. A short time later, a member of the public located a man’s body nearby, believed to be the motorcycle’s rider. The circumstances leading to the motorcycle being unoccupied on the motorway remain under investigation.
Police Actions
- Two drivers transported to Byron Bay Hospital for mandatory testing
- Third driver transported to Tweed Valley Hospital for testing
- All three vehicles seized for forensic examination
Investigation
NSW Police are conducting a full investigation and preparing a report for the coroner. The cause of the incident and the timeline leading to the fatality are still being determined.
