Introduction
A devastating Bauple crash on the Bruce Highway, north of Brisbane, has resulted in the death of one man and left two others injured. This is the second fatal accident on the highway in just four days, following a tragic bus and caravan collision near Townsville.

The fatal Bauple crash occurred around 12:25 pm on Thursday near Gympie. Initial investigations indicate that a loose tyre from a caravan under tow caused the collision, involving a truck, a ute, and the car towing the caravan.

Paramedics assessed a 59-year-old man, the sole occupant of the ute, for life-threatening injuries, but he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals were transported to Gympie Hospital in stable condition.

The Bruce Highway was closed in both directions following the Bauple crash, causing significant traffic disruptions. Police described the scene as “horrific” and are urging motorists to avoid the area or expect extensive delays.
