Police have arrested a 26-year-old Logan man following an armed robbery and two traffic crashes involving a stolen car at Wooloongabba this morning, June 12.

Initial investigations indicate just after 8am, a white Hyundai i30 was parked outside a Tottenham Street shopping complex when the driver, a 43-year-old Morningside woman, was approached by a man armed with a knife.

The man, not known to her, demanded the woman’s vehicle.

The woman complied and was not physically injured.

The man left the scene in the stolen Hyundai which then struck a Kia Sportage along O’Keefe Street in Woolloongabba.

The driver, a 39-year-old Capalaba man, received non-life-threatening injuries.

The man stole the Hyundai which was then involved in a hit-and-run traffic crash along Main Avenue at Stones Corner where it struck a Mazda CX-30 and a BMW iX3.

The driver of the Mazda, a 26-year-old Woolloongabba woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The BMW driver, a 53-year-old Camp Hill woman, was not physically injured.

The Hyundai was abandoned near a rugby league club along Main Avenue in Coorparoo.

The driver, a 26-year-old Logan man, was taken into custody along Sixth Avenue a short time later.

He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injures where he continues to assist police with investigations.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
