The Forensic Crash Unit is calling for witnesses to a single vehicle rollover on Kinkuna Beach last night which left five people seriously injured.

Preliminary information indicates just before midnight a black Ford Ranger dual cab utility was being driven on the beachfront near the entrance to the Burrum Coast National Park when it rolled several times.

The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old woman and four passengers within, including two 18-year-old women, a 20-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, sustained serious injuries. All are from the Wide Bay District.

Two rescue helicopters landed at the scene and all female patients were flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital, with the male patient flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Investigators appeal to campers and others present on the beach who may have witnessed the crash, or have relevant vision/photos or dashcam to come forward as the investigation continues.
