Initial investigations indicate around 5:10pm, a Mazda B2600 Utility travelled along David Low Way before it struck a 12-year-old boy, who had been riding a scooter.

Emergency services arrived a short time later, with the boy being airlifted in a critical condition to Queensland Children’s Hospital.

The driver of the Mazda, a 27-year-old Bli Bli man, was not physically injured and is assisting police with their enquiries.

The Forensic Crash Unit are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have relevant dashcam/CCTV vision of the area to come forward.
