Police are seeking public assistance in relation to a traffic crash involving a pedestrian and vehicle in Toowoomba this morning (September 10).

Initial investigations indicate around 7.45am a white Audi Q5 was turning from Herries Street onto West Street when it has struck a woman crossing the road.

The 54-year-old Newtown woman has suffered head injuries and was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Newtown woman, was not physically injured.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dash cam or CCTV footage is asked to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
