The man was located unresponsive on Dalrymple Road at approximately 4:20 am on Friday, June 13, 2025. He was transported to Townsville University Hospital in critical condition and later passed away. Police are seeking to identify a vehicle of interest believed to have been in the area at the time of the incident.

Emergency Response
Emergency services were dispatched after the man was discovered unresponsive on Dalrymple Road in the early hours of the morning. He was transported by ambulance to Townsville University Hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. The Forensic Crash Unit secured the area and began investigations.

Investigation
Queensland Police’s Forensic Crash Unit is conducting ongoing inquiries into the incident. Police are appealing for information regarding:

  • The movements of the e-scooter rider before and during the incident
  • The presence and role of a blue Holden Commodore Ute seen in the area at the time
  • Any potential vehicle involvement, road conditions, or external contributing factors

Police have issued reference number QP2501023506 and are seeking to identify and speak with the driver of the Holden Commodore Ute.

The fatal crash has prompted concern in the Townsville community about e-scooter safety and road-sharing responsibilities. Police have reminded the public about the importance of early-morning visibility, safe operation of personal mobility devices, and reporting suspicious or relevant activity immediately.

Investigators are urging anyone with information, dashcam, or CCTV footage from Dalrymple Road around 4:00–4:30 am on June 13, 2025, to contact authorities. Police are particularly appealing to the driver of the blue Holden Commodore Ute to come forward.
