Incident Overview
A serious single-vehicle crash occurred at Cooroibah, near Noosa, on Sunday morning, October 12, 2025.

Preliminary investigations indicate that around 7:00 am, a silver Mazda hatchback travelling eastbound left the road and rolled. An 18-year-old man from Tewantin, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to hospital in a critical condition.

Another passenger, also an 18-year-old man from Tewantin, and the 18-year-old driver from Carters Ridge were not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit has launched an investigation and is appealing for any witnesses or dashcam footage from the area.

Queensland Police’s Forensic Crash Unit is examining:

  • The cause of the Mazda leaving the road and rolling.
  • Whether road surface, speed, fatigue, or distraction contributed to the crash.
  • Dashcam or CCTV footage showing the vehicle’s movements in Cooroibah between 6:30 am and 7:00 am.

Community Impact
The crash has left the Noosa and Tewantin communities concerned, particularly as it involved three young men from the region. Police are urging young drivers to remain cautious, especially on rural and winding roads around Cooroibah, where loss of control incidents are common.
