Incident Overview
A 14-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle while walking in the bayside suburb of Wynnum in Brisbane. The incident occurred at approximately 8:20 am on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, on Berrima Street. Emergency services responded to reports that a Mitsubishi Pajero had hit a pedestrian. The boy, a local resident, was declared deceased at the scene.

- The 17-year-old driver and both passengers in the Pajero were uninjured.
Emergency Response
Emergency services responded quickly to the scene, but despite their efforts, the 14-year-old boy could not be revived. The area was cordoned off for several hours as Queensland Police’s Forensic Crash Unit commenced their investigation.
Investigation
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the fatal crash. Key areas of focus include:
- Vehicle movement and speed prior to the collision
- Pedestrian location and behaviour at the time of impact
- Road and traffic conditions on Berrima Street
A formal report will be prepared for the coroner. The investigation is ongoing under reference number QP2501244450.
