What happened
Incident Overview
In August 2020, long-haul truck driver Glen Bennett was involved in a severe multi-vehicle collision north of Gin Gin in Queensland. Dense fog or smoke reduced visibility on the road, leading to a collision with another truck that resulted in Bennett’s vehicle catching fire.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) was notified of the incident. Bennett sustained catastrophic injuries requiring immediate emergency response and extended medical intervention.
