He [Mr Hans Huhsmann] said he regularly visited his general practitioner about the pain and they made a startling discovery when they investigated the wound.

“The GP cut open the wound to let some of the fluid out and he said ‘there’s something in there’,” he said.

Despite having the syringe pulled from his would, Mr Huhsmann still felt pain and scans in February revealed there was another syringe in his abdomen.

Doctors told Mr Huhsmann any further surgery to remove the syringe could kill him.

He has pain-killing injections twice a week, lives with a full-time carer and sleeps sitting-up in bed for only 20 minutes at a time.

Mr Huhsmann met with Carter Capner Lawyers yesterday, the firm representing other patients alleged to have been injured by Dr Patel.
