Mining company QCoal is mourning the loss of a “long-serving, senior and well-loved” worker who tragically died in an accident at the Byerwen Mine in central Queensland on Saturday morning.

QCoal expressed its shock and sadness over the loss of their valued employee, stating that they are focused on supporting the worker’s family and affected staff during this difficult time.

Investigation

Queensland Police are not treating the death as suspicious. RSHQ has sent officials to the site to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident, which initial reports suggest involved a pick and carry crane.
