QCoal Mourns Loss of Long-Serving Worker Killed in Byerwen Mine Accident

Incident Overview

On Saturday, 3 August 2024, a long-serving senior worker employed by QCoal was killed in an accident involving a pick and carry crane at the Byerwen Mine near Capella in central Queensland.

Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) was notified and has dispatched officials to the site to investigate the circumstances of the incident. Queensland Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
