On Monday, 1 July 2024, a man died after becoming trapped between a scissor lift and a ceiling structure at a construction site on Days Road, Upper Coomera, Gold Coast. The incident occurred at approximately 9:10 AM during construction work at Coomera Anglican College.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) has been notified and the matter is under investigation by Queensland Police as a workplace fatality.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is appealing for any workers, contractors or witnesses who were present at the Coomera Anglican College construction site on Days Road on Monday, 1 July 2024 between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM to come forward with information. Reports can be made to WHSQ on 1300 362 128 or to Queensland Police.
