Celebrity Equinox allision occurred on December 20, 2025, after the ship broke its mooring lines in strong winds while passengers were embarking at the Port of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The snapped ropes allowed the bow to swing away from the pier. The hull contacted the concrete pier and a refuelling vessel alongside, causing a scrape to the port side. Boarding was halted when a gangway detached from the dock and fell into the water. Tugboats returned the ship to its berth while safety checks were completed.

No injuries were reported. Celebrity Equinox remained in port overnight, departed on December 21, and shortened its planned Montevideo visit to accommodate the delay. The incident is more precisely described as an allision because the ship struck fixed or stationary objects rather than another moving vessel.
