Carnival Vista Cruise Cancellation Due to Propulsion Issues - 29 August 2024

On 29 August 2024, Carnival Cruise Line announced the cancellation of an 8-day Southern Caribbean cruise aboard the Carnival Vista due to critical propulsion issues that limited the vessel's maximum cruising speed. The voyage, originally scheduled to depart on 7 September 2024, was cancelled to allow urgent repairs to be completed.

The affected itinerary included ports at Oranjestad (Aruba), Willemstad (Curaçao), and Cockburn Town (Grand Turk Island). Carnival Cruise Line has offered comprehensive compensation to all affected passengers.

The propulsion system malfunction rendered the vessel unable to maintain its normal cruising speed, making it impossible to operate the scheduled 8-day itinerary safely and on time. Carnival Cruise Line determined that cancellation was the appropriate course of action to allow the necessary repairs to be undertaken.

The Carnival Vista remains in port undergoing propulsion system repairs. Carnival Cruise Line is working to restore the vessel to service and resume normal operations once the repairs are completed and the ship is certified as seaworthy.
