What happened
On Tuesday, 17 February 2026, a Boeing 737-8BK registered ZK-TXB and operated by Team Global Express, trading as Texel Air Australasia, was involved in a runway incursion serious incident at Melbourne-Tullamarine Airport, Victoria. The aircraft was a cargo variant (BCF) configured for freight operations.
At approximately 04:45 local time, flight TFX36 was rolling for take-off on runway 34 when the flight crew observed a vehicle enter the runway at the intersection of runway 09/27. The crew immediately conducted a high-speed rejected take-off to avoid a potential collision. The aircraft successfully aborted its departure and vacated the runway without incident.
Flight TFX36 departed Melbourne-Tullamarine Airport at 06:19 local time, bound for Adelaide Airport, South Australia. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) was notified of the occurrence and classified it as a runway incursion.
