Queensland Police have charged a 24-year-old Southside woman after investigating a fatal crash at Mothar Mountain earlier this year.

Police alleged a 62-year-old Mothar Mountain woman was walking her dog on Okeefe Road when she was struck by a blue Honda Jazz at about 7am on 28 April 2026. The woman died at the scene.

Queensland Police said the Sunshine Coast Forensic Crash Unit charged the woman on 2 September 2026 with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, and did drive U.I.L. (motor vehicle).

The charges are allegations that have not been determined by a court. Police said the matter is due to be mentioned in Gympie Magistrates Court on 28 September 2026.
