What happened

Incident Overview

On Wednesday, August 24, 2025, a collision between two trucks occurred near the Pine Rivers Bridge at Bald Hills, Queensland, after one vehicle crossed lanes on the approach to the Gympie Arterial Road. The smaller plumbing truck’s door was ripped from its hinges in the impact, and the road was temporarily closed while emergency services attended the scene.

Both drivers were assessed at the scene and sustained minor injuries only. Queensland Police are now investigating the circumstances of the crash and have appealed for witnesses, particularly those with dashcam footage, to come forward.

Emergency Response

Emergency services attended the scene promptly following the collision. Both drivers were assessed on-site for injuries. The road was closed for a short period to allow for scene management and initial investigation.

Investigation

Queensland Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision. Investigators are examining how the plumbing truck came to cross from the Gateway Motorway exit back towards the Gympie Arterial Road, resulting in contact with the semi-trailer. Police have appealed for witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the incident, to assist with their inquiries.
