Incident Overview
A Holden Commodore collided with a road train while attempting to return to its lane during an overtaking manoeuvre on the Gore at Southbrook about 8:30pm on 22 July 2026.
Passengers
An 18-year-old man, 19-year-old woman and 11-month-old baby were treated for minor injuries.
Driver Allegation
Police alleged the Holden’s male driver left the scene on foot and entered nearby farmland.
Other Drivers
The road-train and oncoming semi-trailer drivers were not physically injured.
Vehicle Damage
A road-train trailer overturned and was significantly damaged; the semi-trailer and Holden sustained moderate damage.
Road Closure
The road was closed for about five hours while crews cleared the scene.
Evidence Appeal
Police asked witnesses and drivers with relevant dash-camera footage to contact them.
Investigation
Police continued searching for the alleged driver. The allegations had not been determined.
