Serious traffic crash: Waterford

What happened

Incident Overview

On Friday, August 26, 2022, a serious three-vehicle collision occurred on Waterford Tamborine Road near Waterford, Queensland, at approximately 6:30pm. A blue Hyundai Getz hatchback travelling eastbound collided with a Mitsubishi Triton towing an unladen horse float, and subsequently struck a Silver Ford Falcon that was travelling behind the horse float.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 21-year-old man from Loganlea, fled the scene but was located by police at an address in Buccan several hours later. Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit attended and commenced a full investigation.

The collision occurred on Waterford Tamborine Road, Waterford, at approximately 6:30pm on Friday, August 26, 2022.

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is leading the investigation into the collision. Police are appealing for any person who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, or who may have witnessed the blue Hyundai Getz driving in the area at the time of the incident, to come forward with information.
