What happened

Incident Overview

On Thursday, 15 September 2022, a serious motorcycle crash occurred on the Pacific Motorway (M1) at Oxenford, Queensland. A 24-year-old rider from Bonogin lost control of his motorcycle while travelling southbound, sustaining internal injuries in the incident.

Emergency services attended promptly and the rider was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition. His condition was later upgraded to critical. One lane of the motorway remained closed until 1:30pm, causing significant traffic congestion in the area.
