What happened

Incident Overview

On Sunday, September 11, 2022, a serious motorcycle crash occurred at the intersection of Railway Street and Williams Street in Dayboro, Queensland, leaving two riders in critical condition. At approximately 6:40pm, a motorcycle ridden by a 57-year-old Bray Park man with a 55-year-old Bray Park woman as pillion passenger left the roadway and struck a power pole.

Emergency Response

Emergency services responded rapidly to the scene. The male rider was airlifted by helicopter to the Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital in critical condition. The female passenger was transported by road ambulance to hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Investigation

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash. Police are examining how the motorcycle left the roadway and the factors that led to the collision with the power pole.
