Incident Overview

On Thursday, November 3, 2022, a serious collision occurred at the intersection of Bell Street and Prairie Street in Biloela, Queensland, involving a bicycle and a car. A child riding the bicycle sustained a critical head injury and was airlifted to Brisbane Children’s Hospital.

Emergency services responded shortly after 5:30pm local time. The child was initially transported to Biloela Hospital before being transferred by air ambulance to Brisbane Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

Emergency Response

Queensland Ambulance Service attended the scene and transported the injured child to Biloela Hospital. Due to the critical nature of the head injury, the child was subsequently airlifted by air ambulance to Brisbane Children’s Hospital for specialist paediatric trauma care.

Investigation

Queensland Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and any motorists who may have dashcam footage of the intersection of Bell Street and Prairie Street around the time of the collision to come forward with information.
