What happened

Incident Overview

A 48-year-old rider sustained critical injuries following a serious motorcycle crash in Imbil on Friday, August 26, 2022. The incident occurred around 10:00pm on Yabba Creek Road when the rider of a 2008 Harley Davidson came off the motorcycle on approach to bridge number 5 while travelling westbound toward Borumba Dam.

A passing motorist stopped to render assistance and raised the alarm. Emergency services attended and the rider was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Woman’s Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Emergency Response

Emergency services attended the scene following the alert raised by a passing motorist. The rider was airlifted by helicopter to the Royal Brisbane and Woman’s Hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

Investigation

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit investigators are leading the investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly those with dashcam footage of the crash or the moments leading up to it, to come forward with information.
