Incident Overview
A 23-year-old man was rescued from a burning Corvette after the car struck a tree on Luddenham Road in Western Sydney on Monday, 14 September 2026.
The crash occurred at about 8pm. A nearby resident told 7NEWS that he heard the impact, ran to the wreckage and found the driver trapped as the car burned. He and another person managed to free the driver and move him away from the vehicle before emergency services arrived.

Rescue and Injuries
The driver was taken to Westmead Hospital with a suspected broken rib and collapsed lung, according to the report. One of the people who helped free him was treated by paramedics at the scene for minor burns.
Emergency Response and Investigation
Firefighters extinguished the burning car and several nearby trees that also caught alight. The damaged Corvette was towed from the scene later that night.
Police have opened an investigation into the crash and asked anyone with relevant information to contact Crime Stoppers. The available report did not state that police had reached a final conclusion about why the car left the road.
