Incident Overview

A 39-year-old cyclist has died after a crash involving a bicycle and a Mitsubishi Pajero in Rockhampton City.

Queensland Police said the crash occurred at the intersection of Kent Street and Cambridge Street at about 11.40am on Friday, 28 August 2026. The cyclist was taken to Rockhampton Hospital with critical injuries and died there on Sunday, 30 August 2026.

  • A 39-year-old man was riding a bicycle.
  • A 10-year-old boy was a passenger on the bicycle.
  • The other vehicle was a Mitsubishi Pajero, driven by a 43-year-old man.

Injuries and Investigation

The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The Mitsubishi driver was not physically injured and is assisting police with their investigation.
