What happened

Incident Overview

On Thursday, December 8, 2022, a fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on Skylark Street in Inala, Queensland, when a pedestrian was struck and killed. A 78-year-old man from Doolandella was crossing the street when he was hit by a blue Ford Falcon station wagon driven by a 73-year-old Inala resident.

Passers-by immediately attempted to render first aid at the scene, however the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit attended and the driver is assisting police with inquiries.

Emergency Response

Queensland Police and emergency services attended the scene on Skylark Street. First aid was administered by passers-by immediately following the collision, however the pedestrian was unable to be revived.

Investigation

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is leading the investigation into the circumstances of the crash. The driver of the blue Ford Falcon is assisting police with inquiries. Police are appealing for any motorists who may have witnessed the vehicle in the area at the time, or who may have relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
