What happened

Incident Overview

On Thursday, September 29, 2022, a fatal collision occurred on Logan Road in Holland Park, Queensland, when a black Honda motorbike travelling northbound collided with a black Mercedes sedan travelling southbound. A 25-year-old male rider from Holland Park was critically injured and later died in hospital.

The collision happened at approximately 3:15pm near Abbotsleigh Street. Multiple bystanders provided immediate assistance, performing CPR on the injured rider before emergency services arrived. The driver of the Mercedes sedan was not physically injured.

The collision occurred on Logan Road near Abbotsleigh Street in Holland Park at approximately 3:15pm on Thursday afternoon. The road was closed for several hours following the incident, reopening just after 6:00pm.

Community Impact

Logan Road was closed in both directions for several hours while emergency services attended the scene and investigators conducted their examination. The road reopened to traffic at approximately 6:00pm.

Emergency Response

Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Police attended the scene within minutes of the collision. Bystanders had already begun CPR on the injured rider before paramedics arrived. The rider was transported in critical condition to hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.

Investigation

Queensland Police are leading the investigation into the circumstances of the collision. Investigators are appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly motorists who may have dashcam footage of the crash or the moments immediately preceding it.
