What happened

Incident Overview

On Tuesday, 9 May 2023, a fatal collision occurred on Nudgee Road at Hendra, Queensland, when a cyclist collided with a heavy rigid truck near the intersection with Long Street. The 53-year-old cyclist from Nudgee was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Queensland Police attended and secured the scene. The Forensic Crash Unit has commenced a full investigation into the circumstances of the collision.

Emergency Response

Queensland Police and emergency services attended the scene at Nudgee Road following the collision. The cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The truck driver was assessed and found to have sustained no injuries.

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit officers are conducting a full investigation into the circumstances of the collision. Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or motorists with dashcam footage of Nudgee Road around the time of the collision to come forward with information.
