An 18-year-old man has died following a single vehicle crash at Mudgeeraba last night (September 17).

Initial investigations indicate a Toyota Yaris was travelling on Somerset Drive at approximately 9.15pm when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old Mudgeeraba boy, died at the scene.

A 17-year-old boy, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

A second 17-year-old boy was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Anyone with information or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
