What happened

Incident Overview

On Saturday, September 17, 2025, an 18-year-old driver died following a single-vehicle crash at Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast. A Toyota Yaris left the roadway on Somerset Drive at approximately 9:15pm and struck a tree, with the driver pronounced deceased at the scene.

Queensland Police and emergency services attended immediately. A 17-year-old passenger was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable condition, while a second 17-year-old passenger sustained no physical injuries.
