What happened

Incident Overview

On Tuesday, September 27, 2022, a fatal two-vehicle collision occurred on Eatons Crossing Road near Telford Court at Draper, Queensland, at approximately 1:20pm local time. The vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided; one vehicle left the road and descended down an embankment. One driver died as a result of his injuries; the other sustained minor injuries.

Emergency services attended the scene and worked to free the trapped driver from the vehicle down the embankment. The road was closed until 5:00pm to allow safe emergency response and scene management.

Community Impact

Emergency Response

Emergency services attended the scene and worked to free the 50-year-old driver who was initially trapped in the vehicle down the embankment. The driver was extracted from the vehicle and transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The 77-year-old driver of the second vehicle was treated for non-life-threatening injuries to his foot at the scene.

Investigation
