Incident Overview
A 55-year-old Elanora man died in hospital after a collision involving his bicycle and an SUV at Elanora on Sunday, 14 June 2026.
Location and Time
Preliminary police investigations indicate that the cyclist was travelling on Guineas Creek Road when the collision occurred at about 7.40am.
Vehicles Involved
The incident involved the man’s bicycle and an SUV. The driver of the SUV was not physically injured.
Injuries and Fatality
The cyclist was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition. Queensland Police later confirmed that he died on 16 June.
Police Investigation
The Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
