What happened

Incident Overview

On Wednesday, 15 August 2024, a devastating rollover crash near De Grey in Western Australia’s Pilbara region claimed the life of a three-year-old girl and left five adults with minor injuries. A maroon-coloured Holden Captiva veered off an access road near the Great Northern Highway and rolled, with the young girl suffering critical injuries from which she could not be revived.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the child was pronounced deceased at the location. The incident has prompted a full investigation by the WA Police Major Crash Unit.

The crash occurred on an access road near the Great Northern Highway in the De Grey area of Western Australia’s Pilbara region at approximately 10:50 PM on Wednesday evening.
