Burleigh Heads bus shelter crash
A pedestrian was critically injured when a bus struck a shelter on Township Drive at Burleigh Heads on Monday, 27 July 2026.
Incident Details
7News reported that the 42-year-old man was waiting at the stop at about 4.50pm when an arriving bus struck the shelter, causing part of the structure to fall.
Injuries
Paramedics treated the man for a significant arm injury before taking him to Gold Coast University Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.
Other People
Police said no other person, including the 57-year-old bus driver, was physically injured.

Police said enquiries were continuing and asked witnesses or anyone with footage to contact them.
