Incident Overview

A woman believed to be in her 60s died after being struck by a vehicle on the Monaro Highway south of Bredbo. NSW Police commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.

People and Vehicles Involved

The pedestrian had not been formally identified when police issued their initial release. Police said the vehicle was driven by a 54-year-old man. The available sources do not identify the vehicle make or model.

Injuries and Fatalities

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman at the scene, but she died there. The driver was not injured.

Emergency Response

Emergency services were called to the highway after reports that a pedestrian had been struck. The driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing, which is a standard investigative step and does not by itself indicate wrongdoing. Local traffic diversions were put in place.

Police Investigation
