Police are appealing for information in relation to a two-vehicle traffic crash in Rural View earlier this week.

Around 7.20pm on Tuesday April 30, a head-on collision occurred between a dark coloured Ford Ranger utility and a black Suzuki Swift at the intersection of Eimeo Road and Carl Court.

The Ford Ranger then crashed into a ditch and the passenger, a 37-year-old Beaconsfield man, attempted to flee the scene and was tracked by Dog Squad to nearby bushland. He sustained a dog bite to his arm and was transported to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.

He was later charged with obstruct police officer and was due to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court on May 1.

The driver of the Ford Ranger, a 24-year-old Mackay woman, was physically unharmed.

She was arrested at the scene and charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance with prior conviction and driving of a motor vehicle without a driver licence.

She was due to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court on May 1.

The driver and sole occupant of the Suzuki Swift, a 26-year-old Dolphin Heads woman, sustained arm injuries as a result of the crash.

Investigators appeal for anyone with dash cam vision of the traffic crash to contact police.
