Urgent Medevac for Passenger Aboard Utopia of the Seas Due to Medical Emergency - 12 August 2024

On 12 August 2024, a 52-year-old male passenger aboard the Utopia of the Seas experienced a severe medical emergency shortly after the vessel departed Port Canaveral on a short Bahamas cruise. The ship's captain immediately turned the vessel around and notified the U.S. Coast Guard, which responded with a helicopter evacuation approximately 23 miles off the Florida coast.

The passenger was airlifted to safety and transported to a local hospital in stable condition. No other passengers or crew were reported injured during the incident.
