Star Breeze passenger overboard incident was reported on January 19, 2026, after a 66-year-old male passenger went overboard while the ship was navigating off the Marquesas Islands in French Polynesia.

The report states that the American passenger reportedly went overboard following a dispute with his wife. French maritime authorities were notified and a search and rescue operation began.

A French Navy patrol boat reached the area at about 8 a.m. local time to assist with the search. The passenger was not found in the available report.

After the initial response, Star Breeze was allowed to continue to Hiva Oa, where it arrived later that day. Police officers boarded the ship to conduct interviews as part of an ongoing investigation.

The incident occurred during the 14-day Tahitian Treasures – Magnificent Marquesas Cruise, which operated roundtrip from Papeete from January 15 to 29, 2026.
