Introduction
On the 23rd August 2023, authorities arrested a 47-year-old male passenger aboard the cruise ship Scarlet Lady. The arrest was made at Port Miami’s Virgin Voyages Terminal and the individual has been charged with the possession of child pornography.
Details of the Incident
Upon disembarking the Scarlet Lady, U.S. Border Protection officers conducted a routine search of the passenger’s mobile device. During this inspection, five videos containing explicit material involving minors were discovered. The content of these videos involved the sexual exploitation of young boys, estimated to be around 8 years old. The individual, a resident of Atlanta City, Georgia, USA, was subsequently arrested and is facing criminal charges.

The incident occurred during the routine disembarkation procedures at Port Miami’s Virgin Voyages Terminal. All legal and procedural protocols were followed during the arrest, and the matter is now under the jurisdiction of U.S. law enforcement agencies.
