MSC Musica assisted Spanish maritime authorities in rescuing eight people from a small vessel in distress approximately 16 miles east of Ibiza, Spain, on July 31, 2026. The cruise ship was sailing towards Ibiza after departing Valencia.

- Spanish authorities requested assistance with a small vessel located approximately 16 miles (10 kilometres) east of Ibiza.
- The vessel was reportedly carrying eight men and was equipped with a single engine.
- MSC Musica was travelling towards Ibiza after departing Valencia on July 30, 2026.
Rescue Operation:
- MSC Musica deployed one of its tenders to reach the vessel in distress.
- The tender provided medical assistance and other support to the eight people.
- The people were transferred directly to a Spanish Coast Guard vessel, which took responsibility for the rescue operation.
Outcome:
MSC Cruises said the intervention was carried out at the request of local authorities. The cruise ship resumed its voyage towards Ibiza, with only a minimal impact on its schedule. No fatalities were reported, and further details about the circumstances of the distress were not released.
