Gangway Falls into Water During Wonder of the Seas Departure from CocoCay – 1 August 2026

A gangway fell into the water as Wonder of the Seas departed CocoCay, Bahamas, on 1 August 2026. The operational incident occurred during retrieval of the gangway after passenger embarkation had been completed.

• The gangway slipped during retrieval as Wonder of the Seas slowly moved away from the pier.
• A forklift on the dock was assisting with the recovery operation when the gangway became unstable and briefly remained suspended.
• The gangway then dropped into the water alongside the berth.

• No passengers or crew members were on the gangway when it fell.
• No injuries or damage to the cruise ship were reported.

The incident did not affect the voyage. Wonder of the Seas continued its scheduled three-night Bahamas itinerary, proceeding to Nassau before returning to Miami on 3 August 2026, with no reported delays.
