The vessel made an unscheduled diversion to Cozumel at approximately 2:00 p.m. local time to facilitate the medevac during a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise itinerary. The ship subsequently adjusted its schedule and routing to minimise disruption to the remaining voyage.

The medevac operation took place in Cozumel around 2:00 p.m. local time. The passenger was transferred via tender to a waiting ambulance for transport to a local hospital. Eyewitness accounts noted the passenger was conscious and sitting upright on the gurney during the transfer, indicating a stable condition at the time of evacuation.
