Introduction
A Celebrity Xcel crew member was arrested at Port Everglades on April 10, 2026, following an alleged sexual assault involving another crew member.
What Happened
According to an arrest report, a 36-year-old male crew member was accused of sexually assaulting a female crew member after the two had socialised and consumed alcohol. The alleged victim later reported injuries and said she had no memory of part of the night. The allegation was reported after the ship returned to Port Everglades.
Response and Investigation
The Broward Sheriff’s Office reviewed surveillance footage and arrested the crew member on a charge of sexual battery. He was held without bond. Celebrity Cruises said it was cooperating with authorities. The case remained subject to the criminal justice process, and the allegations had not been proven in court.
