AIDAmar passenger death occurred on December 18, 2025, when an 85-year-old woman was swept into the sea by powerful waves during a shore excursion near Concheira Beach, close to Baiona in Galicia, Spain.
The passenger was visiting the coast after AIDAmar called at Vigo. She reportedly separated from an excursion group and moved onto rocks to take photographs before a large wave carried her into the water. Emergency services, Spanish Maritime Rescue, the Galician Coast Guard, Civil Guard vessels, local police, underwater teams and a rescue helicopter responded.
The passenger’s body was later found on the shoreline, and medical teams were unable to resuscitate her. AIDAmar’s scheduled voyage continued after the Vigo call. Strong winds and high waves were reported along the Galician coast that day.
