Zenair CH-601 Zodiac

During initial climb from Bendigo Airport, the engine of the Zenair CH-601 Zodiac failed. The pilot conducted a forced landing on a grassed area at the aerodrome, after which the aircraft collided with terrain and sustained substantial damage. The ASN record classifies the occurrence as an accident and identifies a powerplant system/component failure or malfunction. No fatalities were reported.
