During Jetstar flight JQ908’s approach to runway 01 at Townsville on 7 October 2026, the crew saw a van enter near the runway threshold. The van stopped near the runway edge as the aircraft passed about 50 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed and the van then continued across the runway. The ATSB is investigating and has not issued final findings.
