What happened
On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, a private gyrocopter was involved in a serious accident near Quorn Racecourse in Australia. The aircraft, which was being operated on a private flight, encountered difficulties during its en route phase and collided with a structure and vehicle at the racecourse location.
At approximately 4:40 pm local time, the gyrocopter came down at the racecourse, striking both a building and a parked vehicle. The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft, sustained serious lacerations in the impact. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene and provided immediate assistance to the injured pilot.
